Job Description

Integrity Truck & Trailer Repair, a new shop in Gary, Indiana, is hiring a full-time Service Writer. Responsibilities of the
Position:
Greeting customers/drivers and documenting repair needs in maintenance software Performing safety re-inspections on trucks and trailers Maintaining truck/trailer files and parts inventory Assigning work to technicians Communicating with drivers and other departments in person and via phone calls, emails, and text messages Procuring parts from local vendors as requested from technicians Scheduling customer appointments and balancing technician workloads
Qualifications & Interpersonal Skills:
Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred) Knowledge of DOT trucking rules and regulations Working knowledge or willingness to learn parts procurement Previous trucking experience in a service writer, maintenance, driving, or managerial role Possess a current/valid CDL (preferred, not required) Experience with trucking maintenance programs (preferred not required) Experience working with owner operators (preferred, not required) Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and follow-up skills Collaborative, team-oriented, service-minded attitude Experience with Microsoft Office -
Excel, Word, and Outlook Work Schedule & Benefits:

Position:
This position requires the ability to perform thorough inspections of commercial trucks, trailers, and related equipment. While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to: Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods while performing daily tasks and inspecting vehicles/equipment. Climb in and out of truck cabs, onto trailers, and access other elevated surfaces using steps and handholds. Reach, grasp, push, pull, and handle tools, equipment, and components during daily tasks. Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds such as parts and tools. Occasionally work in confined or awkward spaces, including reaching underneath trucks or trailers to examine components. Tolerate varied periods outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and around active trucking operations, including noise, dust, and moving vehicles.
