Production Service Writer - Mobile Crane systems As a nationwide recruiter, I've got a Mobile Crane client in need of a Production Service Writer, in the greater Kansas City metro area. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity, in this specific geographic location!

Overview:

The Production Service Writer supports the Production Department, reporting directly to the Production Manager. This role coordinates customer repair, fabrication, upfitting, modification, and production work from initial request through completion — serving as the key link between customers, technicians, and internal departments. The Production Service Writer is responsible for maintaining work orders, coordinating estimates and approvals, tracking job progress, communicating scope or timing changes, and ensuring completed work is accurately documented and invoiced. Strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously are essential to success in this role.

Key Qualifications for this role:

Prior experience in service writing, production coordination, project coordination , or administrative support in the mobile crane or heavy equipment industries, spanning fabrication, welding, upfitting/installation, or repairs. General familiarity with fabrication, welding, mechanical repair, and production processes. Able to read and interpret basic technical drawings, work scopes, and engineering documentation preferred. Possess strong computer skills with ERP, service management, and work-order systems [Experience with Karmak or similar heavy-equipment/service management software a plus]. Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to clearly convey technical information to both customers and production staff. Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple active jobs and shifting priorities without losing accuracy or follow-through. I.G.
