We have an opening at our optical lab location in the heart of Overland Park, KS. We are seeking a full-time Optical Order Entry / Customer ServiceRepresentative to join our Kansas team. Job Overview The Optical Order Entry / Customer Service Representative plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of optical orders while providing high-quality support to internal teams and external partners. This position is primarily office-based and focuses on order entry, verification, and customer communication. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and prior optical experience are essential for success in this role. This is an in-office position working closely with the optical lab, billing, and operations teams to support daily workflow and ensure accuracy throughout the order lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Order Entry & Processing:
Enter and verify eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions accurately Review orders for completeness, optical accuracy, and compliance with specifications Utilize IEC's software management system for order tracking, updates, and documentation Coordinate with the lab team regarding order status, corrections, or special requests
Customer Service & Communication:
Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams, providers, and facility partners Respond to order-related inquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner Communicate clearly regarding order status, delays, or required clarifications Assist with troubleshooting order issues and resolving discrepancies
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate records and documentation Assist with daily administrative tasks related to optical order flow Support continuous improvement of order entry and customer service processes Qualifications Optical experience required (optical lab, optician, or optical order processing background preferred) Familiarity with optical prescriptions, lenses, frames, and terminology Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment Experience with optical software systems is a plus Application Process We are seeking candidates with optical experience who are detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to contribute to a growing organization.
