JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Create a positive first impression for all patients, family members, guests to the outpatient rehab department by providing excellent and efficient customer service. Ensures patients are greeted and directed appropriately to the treating Therapist or Therapist Assistant. Confirms the patient has all that is necessary for the service to be accomplished so that a delay is not experienced. Serves as a representative of our facility to the public personally, as well as over the telephone. Maintains the wait screen so that patients are received in the appropriate order. Maintains the appearance of the lobby and notifies appropriate departments when an area needs attention. Records patient information. Copies insurance cards. Submits copies of face sheet to the HIM department and Business Office. Answers telephone calls in a timely manner. Ensure messages are distributed. Ensures that orders for evaluations are obtained. Schedules patients for Therapy. Attains insurance authorization. Administers therapy treatments to patients, working under direction of and as assistant to Therapist and/or Therapist Assistant. Supervises patients in their performance of active therapeutic exercises as per direction of Therapist and/or Therapist Assistant. Administers heat, sound, and electrical modality treatments, such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot and cold packs. Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain, using intermittent and static traction equipment. Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities. Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally to Therapist. Confers with members of therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs. Performs clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms. May measure vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments or to assist the Therapist and/or Therapist Assistant to compile data for patient evaluations. Administers pre-employment post-offer testing to STHS employees under the direction and supervision of a Therapist.Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. High school diploma required.Required computer skills include:
Proficient/master performer in all Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with EPIC, a plus.Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 10 pounds is required.Physical Effort required:
