Property and Casualty Insurance Representative Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe Additional insurance industry training or certifications preferred Property and Casualty Insurance Representative Experience Requirements Previous experience in property and casualty insurance, insurance customer service, account management, sales, or a related field is preferred. Active Property & Casualty insurance license preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain licensing. Experience servicing new and existing insurance accounts is preferred. Knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and claims processes. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain insurance products, coverage options, and policy details clearly to customers. Strong sales skills with the ability to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities. Experience handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and managing escalations professionally. Ability to conduct outbound calls, cold calling, and client outreach activities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent attention to detail when reviewing documents, processing transactions, and maintaining records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance management systems. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information professionally. Property and Casualty Insurance Representative Physical Capabilities Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and communicating with clients Ability to use a computer, keyboard, phone systems, and standard office equipment Ability to review, process, and accurately enter detailed policy and customer information Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced office environment Ability to manage multiple priorities, customer requests, and deadlines effectively Property and Casualty Insurance Representative Job Duties Provide exceptional customer service to new and existing policyholders. Respond to customer inquiries regarding policies, coverage, billing, claims, and account updates. Assist clients with policy changes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements. Process and maintain accurate documentation related to policies, transactions, and customer requests. Educate customers on insurance products, coverage options, and policy requirements. Service existing accounts while identifying opportunities for additional products and coverage. Support sales efforts through client outreach, follow-up, and relationship building. Perform outbound marketing calls and prospecting activities to generate business opportunities. Coordinate with underwriters, claims adjusters, carriers, and internal teams to resolve customer concerns. Review policy information for accuracy and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations. Maintain accurate customer records and update policy information within insurance systems. Handle customer complaints and escalations with professionalism and urgency. Stay current on insurance regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through responsive and knowledgeable service. Collaborate with team members to support business goals and customer satisfaction initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned.
