Description We are looking for a Customer Experience Specialist to provide administrative and service-oriented support for the IT team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating details, communicating across departments, and helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations in a mission-driven non-profit environment. The person in this role will contribute to purchasing activities, service request follow-up, website content updates, and project coordination while ensuring staff receive timely and attentive assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate IT-related purchasing activities by preparing requests, working with vendors, monitoring order progress, and helping maintain adherence to internal procurement guidelines.
- Support departmental initiatives by organizing project materials, tracking milestones, and assisting leadership with documentation and communication needs.
- Maintain IT-related content on the organization's WordPress site, ensuring updates are accurate, timely, and presented clearly.
- Create, submit, and monitor service tickets while keeping clear records and following up to help drive timely issue resolution.
- Serve as a central point of contact between the IT department and internal staff, providing responsive and courteous communication regarding requests and updates.
- Prepare spreadsheets, letters, reports, and other administrative materials using Microsoft Office applications to support departmental operations.
- Assist with scheduling, email correspondence, and general coordination tasks that help the IT team stay organized and effective.
- Handle inbound and outbound communications effectively, directing inquiries appropriately and ensuring staff concerns are addressed promptly. Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, or office support role, preferably in a department supporting internal operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint for document creation, communication, and tracking activities.
- Ability to manage data entry tasks accurately and maintain organized records across multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear email and phone etiquette.
- Experience coordinating schedules, appointments, or follow-up activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with customer service practices and the ability to provide helpful, timely support to internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable learning departmental processes, tracking requests, and working with vendors or cross-functional teams.
- Experience with WordPress or similar website content management systems is preferred.
