Job Description

VCA Brookline Animal is seeking an experienced client service representative to join our well established hospital and team. We are a six doctor, fast paced general medicine practice. We are located in the heart of Brookline, a mile from downtown Boston. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine, patient care, and customer service. Applicant must be a reliable self-starter, motivated by a challenging, fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude, a friendly demeanor towards both animals and people, will be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and can demonstrate the importance and understanding of high quality customer service. Skills and Qualifications Excellent knowledge of veterinary client service; at least 2 years of experience in the veterinary field. Strong organizational skills. Strong client relations and interpersonal skills. Intermediate to expert computer skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-starter and team player. The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving High School Diploma/GED or equivalent The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste. Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others' reactions Scheduling flexibility to include days, nights, weekends and holidays
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments
  • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients
  • Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments
  • Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control)
  • Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence
  • Triaging phone calls
  • Understanding and entering vaccine information
WAGE:
$21.00-$24.00 depending on experience
