Job Description
ELTA North America (ELTA NA) is a global leader in the design, manufacture and support of innovative electronic systems for the United States government. ELTA NA is seeking qualified applicants for the position Field Service Representative. Location Annapolis Junction, MD Position Summary The Field Service Representative (FSR) serves as the primary technical interface between the company and its aerospace and defense customers. This role provides on-site support for installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training on complex aerospace systems and equipment. The FSR ensures mission readiness, maximizes system performance, and represents the company with professionalism and technical expertise in both domestic and international field environments. Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support for the installation, integration, operation, and maintenance of aerospace and defense systems.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, including mechanical, electrical, avionics, and software-related problems.
- Perform system inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications.
- Deliver technical training to end-users, maintainers, and operators, both formally and informally.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, engineering teams, program management, and product support teams.
- Document field observations, troubleshooting steps, and corrective actions; provide detailed service reports.
- Support engineering teams through feedback, data collection, and participation in system upgrades, modifications, and testing.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, military regulations, and program requirements.
- Travel extensively to customer sites, including operational environments and military installations.
- Represent the company professionally and maintain strong customer relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and technical skill. Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, aerospace technology, electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent military/industry experience).
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or mission-critical systems in a field or maintenance capacity.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, technical orders, and maintenance documentation.
- Familiarity with defense industry practices, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to train and brief technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including internationally and to austere environments.
- Active U.S. DoD security clearance (Secret or higher), with the ability to maintain clearance for the duration of employment. Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military experience or experience supporting DoD programs.
- OEM or depot-level maintenance experience on aerospace platforms or subsystems.
- Experience with mission systems, avionics, ISR payloads, propulsion systems, or unmanned platforms.
- Certifications such as A&P, IPC, CompTIA, or manufacturer-specific credentials. Key Competencies
