POSITION
The used car buyer's primary responsibility is acquiring used vehicles for the dealership, including prospecting, appraising, and presenting offers to current vehicle owners with the goal of purchasing them for resale. To ensure success you need to be accountable and employ prudence in performing your duties in a fast paced work environment. Top candidates are proficient multitaskers, organized, and can perform to a high level of accuracy while maintaining service excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface with used vehicle owners with the intent to purchase their vehicle, tracking everything in company CRM Appraise vehicles, understand vehicle condition, negotiate price, make financially sound purchasing decisions, and ensure timely processing of all purchases Purchase vehicles in alignment with our acquisitions strategy Develop and maintain a high level of product, market, and industry knowledge Provide guidance and support to sales staff as it relates to purchasing used vehicles Follow up on all Kelley Blue Book leads per company guidelines Source leads by utilizing network and available online resources such as Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace Occasionally travel to customers to appraise vehicles at their location Provide exceptional internal and external customer service with the utmost integrity Other tasks as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
We seek a candidate excited about the opportunity to grow with a thriving company in the automotive industry. Experience in a car dealership not required - we will train any enthusiastic candidate with an optimistic, energetic attitude! Valid driver's license and vehicle required Must be highly self motivated Working knowledge of basic car maintenance preferred Willingness to work irregular business hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Technically savvy, with ability to use computer systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Outstanding organizational skills, ability to problem solve High level attention to detail and sense of urgency Ability to lift at least 40 pounds or more Ability to drive manual transmission required (or prepared to quickly learn), as appraisals may involve driving vehicles with manual transmission Background in hospitality, customer service, or other client-facing roles a plus Spanish speaking a plus Previous experience in sales or customer service preferred You will be required to obtain a Maryland Sales License (we will get this for you) and meet all qualifications to obtain.
