Customer Service Specialist

Job Summary A Customer Service Representative processes all shipments, coordinates the movement of the shipments while monitoring them in route. CSR's are multi-taskers who need to be able to handle many shipments from start-to-finish communicating with customers and transportation units as required. This position is day shift and requires some flexibility for backing up other team members. Duties & Tasks Daily management and coordination of shipments, and tracking and tracing shipment routes Responsible for the cost containment of shipments Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select the most cost-effective method of delivery Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments Communicate with carriers to confirm rates Analyze lanes and choose the most appropriate mode of transport within a customer's requirements Manage new accounts using standard operating procedures through until execution Communicate with customers regarding shipments and any issues Skills & Qualifications An ideal candidate must be a confident and energetic person with an excellent work ethic and solid problem-solving skills. That person must also be able to handle high-pressure situations and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Customer service experience in transportation, supply chain, or logistics required Strong computer skills and experience with the ability to multi-task Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Must be proactive at identifying problems and implementing appropriate solutions Must work well on a team and foster good working relationships Experience with TMW transportation management software and Total Mail messaging a plus Experience with Qualcomm units a plus Compensation Competitive salary based on work experience Blue Cross Blue Shield health and dental insurance Vision coverage Group life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and holidays
