Job Description
Gaston County Information Technology (IT) supports application development, a County-wide network infrastructure, internet service, server management, centralized data storage, backups, desktop solutions, IP/digital/analog phones, cell phones, a centralized service desk, wireless networking, IT Security, and much more. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $18.56 - 22.04 The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform. PC Deployments Prepare equipment for deployment using SCCM to apply OS image. Install additional software. Communicate with end users to schedule equipment refresh. Setup Equipment and Configure Quality Check with End User to Ensure All Applications are Available and Functioning Remove Old Equipment Equipment Inventory Maintains Computer Equipment Inventory for Deployments, Equipment Moves and Equipment to be Disposed. Uses inventory management system to generate reports and validate inventory accuracy. Maintain equipment storage areas and reports low inventory levels to manager Assist with the receiving, inventorying, labeling and storing of new equipment. Disposal of Obsolete Equipment Prepare equipment for disposal by removing all hard drives and storing them in designated area to be destroyed. Palatize equipment in designated storage area - labeling description of equipment on palate. Assist Client Service Technicians as needed with equipment moves, end user support and Service Desk coverage. High School diploma or GED equivalent required. The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
