Job Description

Murphy area retail pharmacy is seeking a motivated, professional individual to fill the role of Customer Service Pharmacy Technician. The applicant would preferably have at least one year experience as a clerk or technician in a pharmacy or in the healthcare field. A mature, friendly, professional individual is required to assume this position in the pharmacy while working under the direction of the pharmacist-in-charge.
More details are as follows:
General Definition The purpose of the customer service pharmacy tech is to assist the pharmacist-in-charge, staff pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and coworkers with the day-to-day activities in the pharmacy. General Responsibilities Ordering and maintaining over-the-counter inventory Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders Correctly process point of sale prescription and over-the-counter transactions At point of sale, verify that customer receives correct prescription(s) Create and update patients health and insurance information in the computer Screen telephone calls for the pharmacists Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations Maintain an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice Housekeeping and Material Handling Desired Qualifications Must SMILE and have a positive attitude!!! Must be

Professional demeanor Organizational skills Detail oriented Strong communication skills Courteous attitude Knowledge of computer operations Knowledge of medication brand and generic names Willing to learn on the job, and obtain PTCB pharmacy technician certification (will provide educational materials and a raise upon completion) Please respond via email, include resume, references, and any letters of recommendation.
