A Service Advisor is responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle or equipment service needs, recommending services, and coordinating repair work with technicians. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while ensuring efficient workflow in the service department. Service Advisor Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction Greet customers and listen to their service concerns. Explain maintenance and repair options clearly. Provide accurate cost estimates and timelines. Excellent communication skills are required Service Coordination Create and manage repair orders. Schedule service appointments. Communicate with technicians about diagnostics and repairs. Sales & Recommendations Recommend additional maintenance services when needed. Sales of additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, etc. Progress Updates Keep customers informed about service status and delays. Obtain approval for additional repairs if needed. Billing & Documentation Prepare invoices and explain charges. Process payments and finalize paperwork. Maintain service records in dealership or shop systems. Customer Satisfaction Resolve complaints or service issues. Ensure customers leave satisfied and likely to return.
Service Advisor Requirements:
Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus Ability to identify the problem quickly Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction Past experience as a service advisor, assistant lane manager or service consultant, preferred Very energetic personality A desire for a long-term career with a growing organization Personal and professional integrity Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications High level Communication skills Sales experience Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills Positive, friendly attitude High school diploma or equivalent We are an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
