Overview:
Gun Customer Service associates are responsible for creating a welcoming environment by greeting customers, accurately processing transactions while following all ATF federal laws and guidelines. This role provides friendly, helpful service that ensures customers leave with a positive impression of Scheels. This role requires all associates to be at least 21 years of age due to compliance requirements for processing firearms. Responsibilities:
Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits End each transaction by saying "thank you" to every customer Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases Complete firearm background checks Assist with Gun Room housekeeping Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions All other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects Scheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates. Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.
