Job Description

Marine Service Advisor Sealand MarineOmaha, NE Full-Time | About the Role We are looking for an experienced, customer-focused Service Advisor to join our marine dealership and serve as the connection between our customers and our service department. The Service Advisor will greet customers, understand their service needs, write accurate repair orders, communicate timelines and costs, and coordinate closely with technicians to ensure every customer has an exceptional experience. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong organizational skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment. What You'll Do Welcome customers and provide a professional, friendly service experience Listen to customers' concerns and accurately document their boat or marine service needs Create detailed repair orders and service estimates Communicate recommended repairs, maintenance, parts, labor, and estimated costs Schedule service appointments and coordinate customer drop-offs and pickups Work closely with technicians and the service manager to monitor repair progress Keep customers updated regarding service status, delays, additional repairs, and completion times Obtain customer approval for additional work when necessary Review completed work with customers and explain repairs performed Prepare invoices and ensure accuracy before customer pickup Help identify maintenance and service opportunities that benefit the customer and their boat Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction Maintain organized customer and service records Assist with warranty claims and manufacturer service procedures when applicable Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming service reception area Help ensure a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the service department Implements and maintains a service marketing program. Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate. Keeps service department forms, menus and pricing guides up-to-date. Implements a quality control process to eliminate comebacks. What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, Parts Advisor, or similar customer-facing dealership role Marine, automotive, powersports, RV, or other recreational vehicle dealership experience is preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment Comfortable discussing repairs, maintenance, pricing, and timelines with customers Basic computer skills and ability to learn dealership management software Professional phone, email, and in-person communication skills Ability to work effectively with technicians, parts staff, sales staff, and management Strong problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and professional when handling customer concerns Marine Experience Is a Plus Experience with boats, Yamaha WaveRunners, marine engines, trailers, or other powersports equipment is highly valued. A technical background is helpful, but the ability to communicate clearly with customers and coordinate effectively with technicians is equally important.
