Job Description

Job Overview The Life & Health Customer Service Representative (CSR) supports clients with their life, health, vision and dental insurance needs. This role requires exceptional customer service, accurate policy handling, and compliance with carrier and regulatory requirements. The CSR works directly with the Vice President of Insurance Sales to support sales and client service efforts for small group and individual plans. Act as a key liaison between clients, carriers, and internal departments to deliver a smooth, positive service experience.
Salary Range:
$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year Benefits Annual Base Salary + Bonus Opportunities Mon-Fri Schedule Requirements 1-3 years of experience in insurance customer service, preferably in life and health lines. Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management and relationship-building skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office tools. Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. Experience with ACA marketplace plans and small group plans Active NY and NJ Life, Accident & Health Insurance Licenses Familiarity with common carriers (United Healthcare, Anthem, NY State of Health carriers). Bilingual abilities Proficient in AMS Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries related to life, health, vision and dental policies Assist agent through the policy sale cycle Provide clear, accurate information regarding billing, claims and client service issues Maintain accurate client records in client management system Respond to phone calls, emails, and portal messages promptly and professionally. Assist clieAssist with processing applications, policy amendments, reinstatements, cancellations, and beneficiary changes. Review applications for completeness and accuracy before submission to carriers. Track policy status, underwriting progress, and follow up on outstanding requirements. Maintain detailed and compliant documentation within the agency management system.nts with policy changes, updates, and service requests. Guide clients through the claims process, including documentation requirements and carrier procedures. Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely claims updates and resolutions. Provide empathetic, supportive communication during sensitive life or health-related situations. Ensure all client interactions and documentation meet state regulatory and HIPAA privacy standards. Stay current on product knowledge, carrier updates, and industry changes. Maintain accuracy in all data entry, policy handling, and client records
