Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Service Writer/Office Manager to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing the flow of vehicle repairs and service appointments while overseeing daily office operations. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and dealership experience will ensure smooth communication between customers, technicians, and management. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service needs using auto estimating and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software. Prepare detailed repair orders, estimates, and invoices while explaining repair procedures and costs clearly to clients. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, transmissions, and collision repairs. Upsell additional services or maintenance based on mechanical diagnostics and client needs to maximize dealership revenue opportunities. Manage daily office operations including cash handling, appointment scheduling, customer follow-ups, and maintaining accurate records of service transactions. Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle status updates and explain repair recommendations in a professional manner. Support the team by assisting with automotive repair tasks when needed and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Skills Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with strong mechanical knowledge. Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, tire services, alignment procedures, suspension systems, shocks & struts, brake repair, air brake systems, collision repair processes, and automotive repair best practices. Ability to upsell services confidently while ensuring customer satisfaction. Dealership experience is highly preferred for understanding industry standards and procedures. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in cash handling and record keeping. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles when necessary.
