Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist with their food selections, providing product knowledge and upselling when appropriate to enhance sales. Prepare and package deli items with precision, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process transactions accurately, handle cash and credit payments, and balance registers at shift end. Maintain cleanliness of the deli area by regularly bussing tables, sanitizing work surfaces, and adhering to food handling regulations. Restock shelves, arrange displays attractively, and ensure product freshness by monitoring expiration dates. Support food preparation tasks including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches or salads, and assisting in kitchen operations as needed. Manage time efficiently during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards. Experience Previous experience in food service or retail environments such as quick service restaurants, grocery stores, cafés, or delis is highly desirable. Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha or Micros enhances efficiency in processing sales. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques is essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a fast-paced setting. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management are required. Experience working in a team-oriented environment with excellent time management abilities will help you thrive in this role.
