Customer Service Representative
Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join a manufacturing-focused team in Westerville, Ohio. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting customers, managing order activity, and working closely with vendors to keep operations moving efficiently. The role blends customer service, purchasing support, and logistics coordination, requiring strong communication, organization, and follow-through. You will play an important part in delivering accurate order processing and responsive service while contributing to day-to-day administrative support across the department. Responsibilities Process customer sales orders accurately and maintain the related records needed for both domestic and international transactions. Review and update customer and vendor information in internal systems to keep account data current and reliable. Create purchase orders from internal requests and communicate with suppliers to confirm fulfillment details when needed. Support shipping and receiving coordination by arranging inbound freight, requesting transportation rates, and organizing truckload or third-party logistics activity. Monitor outstanding customer account items and follow up appropriately to help resolve open issues. Provide administrative support to internal teams, including assistance with purchasing needs for testing and instrumentation activities. Partner with team members on shared operational tasks through cross-training, including sample pickup coordination, labor entry, and cash receipt support. Contribute to additional assignments and special projects as directed by department leadership. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent practical experience. At least 3 years of experience in customer service, with exposure to purchasing or order processing in a business environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word, along with experience using order entry or purchasing systems. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Experience coordinating shipments, working with freight providers, or supporting logistics activities is preferred. Problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment. Commitment to following workplace safety practices and procedures.
