Job Description

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor, coordinates all functions of telephone sales as received directly from customers and end users, and with Crosby District Sales Representatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Handles customer correspondence and telephone calls dealing with inquiries on existing orders, stock availability, orders, quotations, and difficult calls dealing with service problems.
  • Writes and processes standard quotations and correspondence to customers.
  • Traces shipments and expedites orders when necessary.
  • Has full working knowledge of office procedures to perform duties.
  • Is able to arrive at sound conclusions for himself/herself.
  • Requires less supervision than a Customer Service Representative Trainee. Enters rush orders, change orders, and orders requiring special charges or insutructions.
  • Responsible for running open order reports and analyzing the reports for past due dates by looking for substitutions and checking on production date.
Job Specifications:
Two years of customer service phone experience (handling customer correspondence and telephone calls dealing with inquiries on existing orders, stock availability, and quotations), required. Similar industry or manufacturing customer service experience is required. Good oral and written communication skills and English proficiency required. Demonstrate positive and cooperative behavior with customers and coworkers. Must have basic computer skills and typing ability (40 WPM and 125 KPM ten key required). Knowledge and ability to operate general office equipment, such as phones, fax, copier, and scanner. Ability to maintain good attendance and punctuality for designated working times in order to be available for customer base. Ability to handle stress. Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to sit for long periods of time managing inbound customer calls. Have stable employment history with a track record of success.
Educational Requirements:
Two years college, preferred. Physical /
Environmental Conditions:
Normal office conditions. Office located in a two-story office building. Job demands may require long periods of sitting, telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving and/or traveling.
