Position Overview Woodburn Nursery & Azaleas is a high‑volume, fast‑paced plant nursery seeking a self‑motivated, detail‑driven Customer Service & Order Entry Specialist. This role is essential to keeping our sales and shipping operations running smoothly, especially during peak shipping season when urgency, accuracy, and efficiency are critical. Applicants must have previous office experience and be comfortable working in an environment with constant interruptions, shifting priorities, and time‑sensitive tasks. A strong work ethic, consistent on‑time attendance, positive team mindset, and proactive communication are key to success in this role. Key Responsibilities Enter customer sales orders quickly and accurately to support fast‑moving daily operations Maintain and update custom label information according to customer specifications Manage and update customer account records with precise attention to detail Build strong customer relationships through timely, professional communication Assist with processing trucks for shipping, coordinating paperwork, and verifying order accuracy Provide backup support to the Receptionist, including answering phones and assisting at the truck driver window Communicate effectively with internal teams (sales, shipping, production) to ensure smooth order fulfillment Maintain ongoing communication with the team throughout the day regarding workload, progress, and shifting priorities Support general administrative tasks such as filing, email correspondence, and reporting Qualifications Previous office experience required — candidates without office experience will not be considered Strong data entry skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Ability to stay focused and productive in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with basic office software (email, spreadsheets, word processing) Willingness to learn new systems, including Sage X3 ERP Interest in learning plant varieties and nursery products to better support customers Self‑motivated, dependable, organized , and able to work independently as well as part of a team Consistent, on‑time attendance every day is essential — reliable presence is required to support daily operations Positive team player who contributes to a supportive, collaborative work environment High level of communication with the team throughout the day to ensure visibility of workload, progress, and needs Strong sense of urgency and commitment to completing all work quickly and correctly Work Environment This role operates in a busy, fast‑moving nursery office with constant communication between departments and frequent interaction with customers, drivers, and staff. Workload increases significantly during peak shipping seasons, requiring flexibility, focus, and a strong drive to keep tasks moving. Dependable daily attendance, punctuality, positive teamwork, and continuous communication about workload are critical to maintaining workflow and supporting the team. Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM On‑site only; this position is not eligible for remote work
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
