Job Description

FinishWorks is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to support customers throughout the order-to-invoice process. This position communicates with customers by phone, email, and in person, processes orders, resolves concerns, maintains accurate records, and works closely with Sales, Operations, Accounts Receivable, and Credit. Previous customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates who have strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Hourly Position Overview FinishWorks is looking for a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Experience team. In this role, you will help provide a smooth and positive experience throughout the order-to-invoice process. You will serve as an important connection between our customers and internal teams by processing orders, answering questions, resolving concerns, and keeping customers informed. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, pays close attention to detail, and remains professional and solution-focused in challenging situations. What You'll Do Greet and assist customers and sales representatives professionally by phone, email, and in person. Provide accurate information about company products, services, and policies. Process customer orders with accurate pricing, quantities, and order details. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions. Assist with customer complaints, returns, product questions, and other concerns. Troubleshoot common issues and help identify practical solutions. Initiate the appropriate workflow for new paint-match requests. Create and maintain customer accounts. Work with Accounts Receivable and Credit to help establish customer payment terms. Receive and process payments from customers and sales representatives. Collaborate with local and regional Operations and Customer Service teams to support timely and complete order processing. Maintain active communication with customers and provide updates until issues are resolved. Recommend alternative or complementary products and services when appropriate. Gather customer feedback to help improve the overall customer experience. What We're Looking For Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent listening and problem-solving abilities. A professional and courteous approach to customer interactions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize responsibilities and complete assigned work on time. Ability to remain constructive and solution-focused during challenging situations. Flexibility to adjust your communication style based on the customer or situation. Ability to learn company products, services, policies, and procedures. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information appropriately. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Experience Previous customer service or related experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate strong transferable communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience working with ERP or CRM systems is helpful. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations or HubSpot is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to perform primarily desk-based work, including extended periods of sitting. Regular use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other standard office equipment. Occasional walking throughout the facility. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Regular use of hands for typing, handling materials, and reaching. Work Environment This position primarily works in an office setting with controlled temperatures. Occasional entry into shipping, receiving, or production areas may be required. These areas may have regulated heating, limited air conditioning, and light exposure to airborne chemicals associated with the production environment.
