Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collision Repair Estimator to join our fast-paced automotive service team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for customers seeking collision repairs, responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing detailed estimates, and guiding clients through the repair process. Your expertise will help ensure seamless communication between customers, technicians, and insurance companies, delivering exceptional service and efficient repairs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive knowledge and customer service skills to make a tangible impact in vehicle restoration. Duties Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess collision impact and identify necessary repairs using computer-aided estimating software. Prepare detailed repair estimates that include parts, labor, materials, and additional services such as mechanical repairs or maintenance. Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing excellent customer service. Collaborate with technicians and shop managers to coordinate repair schedules and ensure timely completion of work. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, suspension work, or transmission repairs when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue. Liaise with insurance adjusters to facilitate claims processing and ensure estimates align with insurance requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of all estimates, customer interactions, and repair orders while managing cash handling responsibilities when applicable. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a mechanic or service technician preferred. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex repairs clearly and professionally. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, collision repair processes, and mechanical systems including transmissions, shocks & struts, brake systems, suspension components, and tire services. Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Dealership experience or auto service management background is highly desirable. Basic driving skills for vehicle inspections or test drives; valid driver's license required. Experience in auto service writing, sales techniques, and parts are a plus Familiarity with automotive repair standards related to oil changes, suspension work, brake repairs, and other routine maintenance tasks.
