Job Description

Part-Time Customer Service Clerk Part-Time Position 15 to 29 Hours Per Week The Washington-East Washington Joint Authority is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Part-Time Customer Service Clerk to assist with front office operations and provide support to administrative staff. Position Summary This position is an important part of the Authority's front office team and helps ensure courteous customer service and smooth daily operations. The successful candidate will answer customer inquiries, process payments, maintain records, and provide backup coverage for front office staff during vacations, sick leave, and other absences. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with the public and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor when responding to customer questions and concerns. Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist customers with account inquiries and payment processing
  • Process cash, check, and electronic payments accurately
  • Perform filing, recordkeeping, and general clerical duties
  • Provide administrative support to office staff as needed
  • Serve as backup coverage for front office personnel during vacations, sick leave, and other absences
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and Authority information
  • Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service, bookkeeping, utility billing or municipal office experience preferred
  • Experience handling cash and processing financial transactions preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Dependable, organized, and professional in appearance and conduct Hours and Compensation
  • Part-time position with 15 to 29 hours per week
  • Not eligible for Authority benefit programs
