Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Call Center Representative to join our scheduling team supporting a reputable health system. This role is primarily remote; however, candidates must be able to commute to Plainview, NY for initial training and occasional on-site meetings as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments Provide accurate information regarding services, providers, and appointment availability Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral requirements Navigate multiple systems to input and update patient data efficiently Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality in all interactions Follow established scripts, workflows, and compliance guidelines (including HIPAA regulations) Resolve patient inquiries and escalate complex issues when appropriate Meet performance metrics related to call quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred Prior experience in a call center, healthcare scheduling, or customer service role strongly preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace for remote work Must be able to commute to Plainview, NY for training
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of medical terminology Experience with insurance verification and referral processes Bilingual skills are a plus
Training & Work Schedule:
