We provide full paid training so you can hit the ground running. About the Role Ruane Attorneys is a growing criminal defense firm with offices across Connecticut and a national remote workforce. We're looking for the right person to join our team as a Client Intake Specialist. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for people going through one of the most stressful moments of their lives. You'll speak with prospective clients by phone, listen to their situations, answer their questions, and help them understand how our firm can help. You're not selling anything. You're guiding someone through a difficult moment with warmth, patience, and professionalism. This role is for you if you: Genuinely enjoy talking to people and making them feel heard Stay organized with to-do lists and follow-up systems Can bring the same energy to a 4:30 PM Friday call as a 10 AM Monday call Want a predictable schedule that lets you plan your life Are looking for something more stable and rewarding than shift work This role is NOT for you if you: Prefer to work alone and avoid phone conversations Get drained by talking to people throughout the day Need constant supervision to stay on task What You'll Do Conduct intake interviews with prospective clients by phone Convey confidence and set the tone of each conversation Show empathy and compassion to callers during their most difficult moments Multitask across systems while staying fully present on calls Follow up with leads until they're either retained or disqualified Maintain accurate records and notes in our CRM What We're Looking For Experience in customer-facing roles (retail, restaurants, call centers, hospitality, or similar) Strong communication and interpersonal skills The ability to interpret information quickly and respond accurately Self-motivation and a strong work ethic Comfort working independently in a remote environment An associate's degree or progress toward one (preferred, not required) Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus but not required What We Offer Fully remote position with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule Paid training provided (no legal background needed) A friendly, supportive team that genuinely cares about each other Room to grow within a firm that is actively expanding its national workforce The chance to do meaningful work helping real people through real problems About Ruane Attorneys We are a mid-sized criminal defense firm headquartered in Shelton, CT, with offices and attorneys throughout the state.
