Job Description

The Customer/Animal Care Associate provides assistance to customers visiting the Potter League and is the first step on the path to becoming an Animal Adoption Specialist. They staff the front desk at the Animal Care and Adoption Center and provide excellent customer service to our visitors, compassionate care to all animals, and provide other support as needed across the organization. Other steps on this job path include working as an Animal Care Associate taking care of our animal residents, and training in other animal-focused areas of the organization such as medical and behavior/training.
Type:
Full-Time, 30-40 hours per week
Schedule:
Weds, Sat, Sun from 7:00am to 5:30pm; additional hours to cover callouts or special events may be available
Pay Rate:
$20.00 per hour to start, increases as training progresses

ApplyToJob=738738881&full_apply=&jobid=738738881 Some of the responsibilities of the Customer/Animal Care Associate include: Facilitates visitation between customers and animals and is familiar with and can articulate special qualities of all animals. Prepares paperwork for and completes process of adoption, surrender, and pet safe transactions. Counsels and screens potential pet adopters. Maintains lost and found records and diligently works to reunite missing animals with their owners. Greets visitors and answers phone calls, voicemails, and emails promptly and courteously. Answers questions and explains organization programs, policies, and procedures. Monitors shelter census for incoming and outgoing animals, including DOA pets, strays and pets in shelter for medical procedures. Cleans kennels, litter boxes, and animal enclosures. Prepares and distributes food and treats to animal as needed. Assists customers with end of life options for their pets including taking possession of and properly storing deceased animals. Ensures animal management software is up to date and accurate. Processes accurate monetary transactions including retail sales, crate rentals, donations and training center classes and playgroup fees. Performs miscellaneous duties including but not limited to cleaning company vehicles and equipment, taking inventory and restocking supplies, running errands.

$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
