Job Description

The Darlington County Farm Bureau Insurance office is seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused individual to join our team. This position will work alongside our County Secretary, Agency Manager, and Insurance Agents to provide excellent service to customers and dependable support to the office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, works well in a busy professional environment, and takes pride in being accurate, organized, and dependable.
Schedule:
The anticipated schedule is approximately 25 - 30 hours per week during regular Monday through Friday business hours. A consistent schedule will be established at hiring. Some additional hours may occasionally be available to assist with vacations, absences, or increased office needs.
Compensation:
$17 - $20 hourly
Responsibilities:
Support clients reporting claims on current policies by gathering all documentation needed to give to the adjuster to process Give clear answers to clients on any coverage or billing questions including information on rate fluctuations or policy changes to ensure full understanding Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance Answer incoming calls and direct customer needs appropriately Accept customer payments and provide receipts according to established procedures Perform accurate data entry and maintain customer records Scan, file, and organize confidential documents Schedule appointments and communicate with customers by telephone and email Monitor outstanding work and follow up on administrative deadlines Assist agents and the County Secretary with daily office needs Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional front-office environment Protect confidential customer and company information
Qualifications:
Follow up skill, written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills are a must in this role Applicants must have basic computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in customer service, banking, insurance, a medical office, a dealership, or another professional office environment Dependable attendance and punctuality Strong attention to detail and organizational ability Comfortable handling payments and following cash-control procedures About Company We believe that providing excellent customer service and competitive auto, life and property insurance rates are as important today as they were when we started our company nearly 60 years ago.
