In this role, you will assist customers in selecting the best pet food options, provide expert advice on pet nutrition, and deliver professional bathing services to ensure pets look and feel their best. Responsibilities Assist customers in choosing appropriate pet food products based on individual pet needs, preferences, and dietary requirements Provide knowledgeable guidance on pet nutrition, including ingredient benefits and feeding recommendations Perform bathing, nail trims, gland expressions of pets to maintain cleanliness, coat health, and appearance standards Handle animal restraint safely during bathing and grooming procedures to ensure both pet and staff safety Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming services, pet care tips, and behavioral considerations Maintain a clean, organized work area including grooming stations, storage areas, and retail displays Assist with heavy lifting of supplies such as bags of pet food and grooming equipment to ensure smooth operations Skills Experience with dog training, dog handling, and animal handling techniques Veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant background preferred for understanding animal health needs Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet grooming techniques, including pet nail trimming and bathing procedures Strong communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and professionally Ability to perform kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and basic animal care tasks with compassion and attention to detail Familiarity with animal restraint methods to ensure safe grooming sessions Physical capability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during busy shifts Join us in creating a caring environment where pets thrive!
