Automotive Service Team Lead Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, dependable Automotive Service Team Lead to help lead the day-to-day operations of our service department while delivering an excellent customer experience. This is a working team lead position for someone who can successfully perform Service Advisor responsibilities while also helping guide the team, maintain workflow, uphold department standards, and serve as a go-to resource when challenges arise. The ideal candidate brings strong automotive service knowledge, proven Service Advisor or Service Writer experience, confidence using CDK , and the leadership skills to keep a busy service operation organized and moving forward. We are looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership, communicates clearly, holds high standards, and helps the entire team succeed. Pay & Schedule $22+ per hour, based on experience Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM No weekends What You'll Do Team Leadership & Department Support Lead by example and help set the standard for professionalism, accountability, urgency, and customer service Support the daily workflow of the service department and help ensure work is prioritized appropriately Serve as a resource for Service Advisors and other team members when questions or challenges arise Help keep repair orders, customer communication, and vehicle workflow moving efficiently Partner with technicians and department leadership to identify and resolve workflow issues Help reinforce company procedures, warranty requirements, and service department processes Assist with training, coaching, and developing team members Help identify performance or process concerns and work toward practical solutions Take ownership of customer escalations and assist in resolving difficult situations professionally Promote teamwork and strong communication between advisors, technicians, and leadership Service Advisor Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and provide a professional, welcoming service experience Verify and update customer contact and vehicle information Accurately gather and document customer concerns Write clear, detailed repair orders for technicians Perform visual vehicle inspections and accurately document vehicle condition Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnosis and repairs Prepare accurate estimates and clearly explain recommended services Ensure repairs and documentation align with warranty and company guidelines Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the repair process Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally Build customer relationships that encourage repeat and referral business Maintain high customer satisfaction standards Keep work areas organized and ensure department processes are consistently followed What We're Looking For We're looking for more than an experienced Service Advisor. The right candidate should demonstrate the ability and desire to lead a team and take ownership of department performance. Qualifications 2+ years of Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or similar automotive service experience preferred Previous team lead, supervisory, mentoring, or leadership experience strongly preferred Experience with CDK (Dealer Management System) required Strong working knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance Proven ability to manage multiple repair orders and competing priorities Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills Excellent verbal and written communication Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to coach, support, and hold team members accountable Comfortable making decisions and solving problems in a fast-paced environment Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented Leadership Traits That Will Make You Successful Our strongest candidates will demonstrate:
