Village Motorsports is looking for a motivated Powersports & Marine Service Writer to join our growing team. We are a local Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, Polaris, Godfrey, Hurricane, Four Winns, and MasterCraft dealer, serving customers across both the powersports and marine industries. We're not simply looking for someone to stand behind a service counter. We're looking for someone who can communicate, organize, follow through, solve problems, and take ownership of the customer experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Service Writer, you'll be the primary connection between our customers and our technicians. You'll help keep our Service Department organized and our customers informed by: Greeting customers and listening carefully to their service concerns Writing clear and accurate repair orders Scheduling service appointments and helping manage shop workflow Communicating estimates, technician findings, repair status, and delays Obtaining and documenting customer authorization Coordinating with technicians and our Parts Department Monitoring open repair orders and making sure nothing gets forgotten Keeping customers updated throughout the repair process Reviewing completed work before customer pickup Explaining repairs and maintenance clearly when customers pick up their equipment Maintaining accurate documentation for customer-pay, warranty, insurance, and service-contract repairs Helping customers understand the proper maintenance and safe operation of their equipment You'll work with everything from motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs to personal watercraft, boats, outboards, inboards, and other marine equipment.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You don't need to know everything on your first day. You do need to be someone who is willing to learn, takes responsibility seriously, and follows through on commitments. We're looking for someone with: Excellent customer-service and communication skills Strong organization and attention to detail The ability to handle multiple customers and repair orders at the same time Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Professional telephone, email, and face-to-face communication skills Basic mechanical knowledge or a strong interest in powersports and marine equipment The ability to communicate effectively with technicians, Parts, management, and customers The ability to stay professional when handling difficult situations A willingness to learn and continuously improve Previous powersports, marine, automotive, or service-advisor experience is a plus, but the right attitude, communication skills, and ability to learn are extremely important to us.
