This is not a transactional retail job. The clients who walk through our door are navigating some of the most tender, and sometimes medically complex, moments of their lives. Your job is to meet them there with warmth, with knowledge, and with the kind of care that makes them feel like they've finally found the right place. This role combines mastectomy fitting and compression fitting into one position. We've found the two go hand in hand, and clients are best served by one fitter who can support both needs rather than being passed between specialists. You'll work alongside a small, close-knit team that genuinely cares about one another and the clients we serve. At our Poulsbo boutique, you'll get to know your clients and remember their stories. That continuity is part of what makes Nurturing Expressions different from everywhere else.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are warm by nature, not as a customer service technique, but as a genuine character trait. You are the person who picks up on what a client actually needs, not just what she says she needs. You listen first, and you never tell a client what she should do based on your own experience. You can hold space for someone who is emotional, in pain, or overwhelmed by a lymphedema diagnosis, and you can guide her to a solution without making her feel rushed or dismissed. You're also operationally sharp. You work accurately, move quickly during peak times, and don't need someone standing over you to know what to do next. You are dependable, adaptable, and you take quality and presentation seriously, right down to how a product is packaged and sent home with a client. This role is a strong fit if you: Have genuine retail, healthcare, or customer service experience and actually enjoyed it Are comfortable navigating sensitive and sometimes complex medical conversations with patience and grace Have a healthcare background (Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, or similar) or are otherwise very comfortable with clinical settings and medically complex clients. This is a plus, especially for our lymphedema and compression clients, though not required Are available Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, and Poulsbo is geographically right for you Are comfortable working alongside mastectomy patients and clients managing lymphedema, and assisting with those sensitive fittings Enjoy building relationships beyond the boutique, including with physician offices and clinics in the community Want to grow. We invest in people who invest in themselves, including supporting you toward mastectomy fitter certification
