General Description:

As a Service Writer, you will provide prompt, courteous and effective service by phone and/or in person to ensure customers have a positive experience with our dealership. You will also process the dealership's warranty claims with the manufacturer for failed eligible parts that require replacement or repair. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Build relationships and provide professional, quality customer service with a sense of urgency Assist in the warranty process for the dealership Hold and scrap the warranty parts per OEM policies, maintain Warranty Parts Room in a neat and organized manner Communicate status of repair throughout the warranty and/or repair process with the customer Review repair orders to ensure completeness, prepare invoices and receive payment or obtain credit authorization for customers as needed Assist the Service Managers with admin-related tasks for the department Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements pertaining to this position. Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, standing, bending, and squatting

Basic Requirements:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products Previous experience as a Service Writer/ Service Advisor Previous experience in the heavy-duty truck industry

High School Diploma or GED Candidate Criteria:

Strong oral and written communication ability Commitment to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions
