Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Entry Writer to join our Customs Brokerage team. This role is responsible for preparing and submitting accurate import documentation, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and facilitating the smooth clearance of goods. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of import procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit customs entries in accordance with all applicable regulations Review commercial documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) for accuracy and completeness Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements Communicate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to resolve entry issues Monitor shipment status and ensure timely clearance Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes Stay up to date with changes in customs regulations and trade compliance requirements
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field preferred Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import procedures Experience with entry filing systems especially NetCHB Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines Great written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Customs Broker License is a plus, but not required
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with HTS classification and duty calculation Experience working with freight forwarders or logistics providers Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle discrepancies efficiently
