1st Job Summary The Distribution Centre (DC) Clerk provides administrative and operational support to ensure accurate, timely flow of goods through the distribution centre. This role is responsible for shipping documentation, label creation and verification, data entry and reporting, carrier coordination, and maintaining accurate records in spreadsheets and warehouse systems while supporting safety and service standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Create and print shipping labels using ShipBridge; ensure label format, service level, and ship-to details are accurate.
  • Audit labels and shipping documents
  • Prepare and distribute the dropship report.
  • Complete stock transfer paperwork, ensuring correct item, quantity and origin/destination location details.
  • Attend tank meetings as required; document action items and follow up on assigned tasks.
  • Manage shipping paperwork (packing slips, pick tickets, manifests, shipping instructions, and related documents) and maintain organized filing/retention.
  • Update spreadsheets and Bill of Lading (BOL) information; verify totals, pallet counts, NMFC/class (if applicable), and shipment details.
  • Request and compare freight quotes; coordinate with carriers/brokers to select appropriate service and confirm pickup times.
  • Schedule pickups and communicate dock appointment times; provide carriers with required documentation and special handling instructions.
  • Support receiving/put-away paperwork and system transactions as needed (ASN matching, discrepancy reporting, RTV/claims support).
  • Perform data entry in warehouse, transportation, or ERP systems (ship confirmations, tracking uploads, order status updates).
  • Track shipments and resolve delivery issues (missed pickups, reweigh/reclass, damages, late deliveries) in collaboration with carriers and customer service.
  • Maintain compliance with DC procedures and health & safety requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to DC leadership
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve accuracy, reduce shipping errors, and streamline processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service and sales environments (manufacturing preferred but not necessary). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good time management and organizational skills. Good human relations skills in a manufacturing environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining effectiveness. Proficiency in Adagio and MS Office applications.
