Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a real difference supporting students in a school setting as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH). This contract opportunity involves working with five students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, engaging with them at various nearby sites—all conveniently located within minutes of each other. The role offers flexibility, allowing for 8-10 hours per week dedicated to specialized instruction and support.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (out-of-state licenses welcome) Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong understanding of IEP planning and progress monitoring Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to travel between multiple school sites within a short distance
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect services to DHH students in inclusive and resource settings Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions Support general education staff in strategies for accessibility and educational success Maintain thorough records of student goals, progress, and communications with families Promote self-advocacy and independence among students
