Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education within a public school setting located in Inyokern, CA. This contract position is scheduled from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering approximately 15 hours per week. The role involves providing one-on-one support to students, with potential for an increased caseload as the academic year progresses.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to meet individual needs. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Experience with 1:1 instructional support and caseload management. Strong understanding of communication methods and technologies used by students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Ability to work onsite in Inyokern, CA, maintaining consistent presence for face-to-face instruction.
