Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate

We are a strong and growing Heating & Plumbing manufacturers' rep agency serving all of New England and Upstate New York. We have an immediate full-time Driver/Warehouse Associate for our warehouse located in Syracuse, NY.

Job Summary:

The Driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner. Candidate for this position will be delivering product throughout New York. Candidate will also be responsible for receiving truck deliveries of inventory, stocking inventory, picking and staging customer orders, shipping orders via customer pick up and/or by trucking companies, receiving returns and general warehouse duties on days when not delivering.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operates a box truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws. Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations. Deftly maneuvers truck into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals. Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area. Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete. Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air, reports maintenance malfunctions to Warehouse Manager. Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient with inventory control systems. Ability to read and understand paperwork. Must be able to operate fork truck, order picker and hand truck. Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Dependable, reliable and has the ability to prioritize. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points. Ability to remain focused in a busy environment. Valid driver's license and DOT (we will reimburse for DOT upon hiring). Ability to use GPS. Must have clean driving record. Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years warehouse experience. Minimum 2 years driving 15' and 26' box trucks. Customer service experience. Experience using fork truck, order picker and hand trucks.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to travel frequently.
