In this essential role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate medical records. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will ensure a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech. Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multiple-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits using systems like Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; communicate coverage details clearly to patients. Collect patient information accurately, including medical history and consent forms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review. Handle medical billing processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, Medicare claims, and insurance collections to facilitate timely reimbursements. Maintain organized dental and medical records while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with health information management standards. Assist with office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic documentation within various EHR platforms. Support front desk operations by managing appointment reminders, patient inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service with excellent phone etiquette. Collaborate with dental staff to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless communication between clinical and administrative teams. Stay updated on dental terminology and office procedures to enhance overall clinic efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist within a dental clinic or healthcare setting; clinic experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential. Demonstrated ability in insurance verification processes including Medicare and other third-party payers. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software quickly. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and recordkeeping. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service excellence; professional phone etiquette is a must.
