The hotel offers 9 guest rooms, a café and lounge, curated programming including musical performances, panels, and the opportunity for additional events and full buy-outs. We pride ourselves on delivering a luxury and personalized experience for our guests, rooted in the inspiration and beauty found in the Berkshires. Role Overview The Guest Experience Associate plays a central role in delivering a refined, high-touch hospitality experience while supporting the seamless day-to-day operations of Doctor Sax House. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, service-driven individual who takes pride in creating thoughtful, memorable guest experiences. This is a dynamic, multi-faceted role with responsibilities spanning across the entire property: 60% Hotel Operations & Guest Experience 20% Restaurant & Bar Service 20% Private Events & Programming The ideal candidate thrives in a boutique luxury environment and is excited by the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of hospitality. They are a self-motivated individual who takes pride in staying actively engaged and productive while on site, consistently finding ways to enhance the guest experience and support the team. Compensation This position offers a starting rate of $25 per hour , with opportunities for increased compensation and advancement based on performance, initiative, leadership, and overall contribution. Key ResponsibilitiesHotel Operations & Guest Experience (60%) Provide a warm, personalized, and professional welcome to all guests, creating a strong first impression Proactively communicate with guests prior to arrival (via platforms such as Whistle) to confirm details and enhance their stay Prepare guest rooms prior to arrival, including welcome notes, thoughtful touches, and final quality checks Deliver attentive, high-level service throughout the full guest journey, from pre-arrival to departure Curate and provide a weekly "What's Happening in the Berkshires" guide Anticipate guest needs and proactively enhance their experience Assist in planning special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) with thoughtful details (e.g., flowers, welcome amenities) Maintain an elevated, polished front-of-house presence at all times Ensure all guest-facing spaces (rooms, parlor, outdoor areas) are clean, organized, and visually aligned with brand standards Conduct daily property walkthroughs to ensure ambiance, cleanliness, lighting, music, and overall presentation meet expectations Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and a solutions-oriented mindset Restaurant & Bar Support (20%) Support food & beverage operations during service periods as needed Assist with barista and bartender responsibilities when required Maintain high standards of service, presentation, and guest interaction Collaborate with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth and efficient service flow Step in where needed to ensure a seamless and elevated dining experience Private Events & Property Programming (20%) Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown with a strong attention to detail Prepare event spaces to align with the property's aesthetic and service standards Support a seamless, polished experience for event guests Anticipate event needs and resolve issues quickly and discreetly Contribute to the overall energy and atmosphere of events and programming Operations & Team Support Support daily hotel operations with a focus on organization, efficiency, and presentation Monitor guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to ensure they are consistently guest-ready Identify and proactively address operational issues, taking ownership or escalating when needed Assist management in maintaining a smooth and elevated operational flow across the property Additional Expectations Uphold a high standard of professionalism, communication, and appearance at all times Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and pride in guest experience Be adaptable and willing to contribute across all areas of the property Take initiative, show ownership, and actively contribute to team success Continuously seek opportunities to improve service, operations, and guest satisfaction Growth Opportunity This role is designed for individuals interested in building a long-term career in hospitality.
