Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Office Business Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. We are currently looking for a part time position working three days per week (7:30am-5:30pm), with the flexibility to transition into a full time schedule of 4 days a week in the future. In this vital role, you will serve as the backbone of our administrative operations, ensuring seamless clinic functionality and exceptional patient service. Your energetic approach and proactive mindset will help streamline office workflows, manage medical billing and coding, verify insurance, and support both clinical and administrative teams. Duties Manage patient scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Microsoft Office, ensuring efficient appointment flow Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using insurance portals and platforms; handle insurance claims processing and follow-up Perform dental billing and coding tasks, ensuring accurate documentation review and compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with intake procedures by collecting patient information, updating medical records, and maintaining confidentiality of health information Support front desk operations by answering multi-line phone systems professionally, greeting patients warmly, and managing appointment confirmations Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical records, and billing documents in accordance with health information management standards Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries related to insurance verification, payment options, and care plans while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Qualifications Proven experience in dental office administration or medical office management with familiarity in dental terminology and clinic procedures Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix or similar platforms Proficiency in dental coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), dental billing processes, insurance verification, and Medicare guidelines Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Prior dental clinic experience or dental receptionist background is preferred; strong clerical experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous Join our team to be part of a positive environment where your skills directly contribute to delivering outstanding patient care!
