Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Schedule Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, maximize patient satisfaction, and support the delivery of exceptional dental care. Duties Manage all aspects of dental appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Verify insurance coverage and benefits through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth to facilitate seamless patient billing and collections Coordinate with patients to confirm appointments, reschedule as needed, and provide appointment reminders via phone or electronic communication Assist with insurance claim submissions, follow-up on outstanding claims, and perform collections for unpaid balances while adhering to HIPAA regulations Review patient documentation for completeness and accuracy, including medical history updates and treatment plans Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with health information management standards Provide exceptional customer service by answering multi-line phone systems professionally, addressing patient inquiries, and supporting front desk operations Support clinic staff by handling administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing office supplies Experience Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred, especially in roles involving medical scheduling or administrative support Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding systems, and medical billing procedures is preferred Demonstrated ability to verify insurance benefits accurately using systems like Epic or Athenahealth; experience with Medicare and Medicaid is a plus Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Experience working in a fast-paced clinic environment with a focus on patient service and office management is preferred Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering top-tier dental care!
