Our studio supports the independent practice and unique vision of the SlingShot artists and provides professional representation in the gallery. The Teaching Artist will create and implement engaging and interactive arts education programs that promote artistic expression, creativity, and personal growth.

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm

REQUIREMENTS

BFA or a BA in a related field with a personal art portfolio; or a combination of education and paid employment. Experience with painting, drawing, ceramics, and fiber are ideal. Basic computer literacy (especially Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Outlook. Word, Excel, etc.) ability to do internet searches. Valid California driver license, and a clean DMV record along with reliable transportation. Criminal background clearance from the Department of Justice including fingerprinting and health screening, including a TB test (Alpha pays for this expense). Teaching experience is a plus. Experience in human services field is a plus. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Microsoft Teams is preferred but not required.

CORE COMPETENCIES

Experience in multiple artistic media This position is responsible for completing paperwork related to artist outcomes, some personal care and hygiene assistance, and working with a small team of co-workers to maintain day to day operations
