Job Description

(Air-Dry Clay) Are you creative, artistic, and passionate about inspiring young artists? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Arts & Crafts Leader to lead an engaging after-school enrichment program focused on air-dry clay for middle school students. The instructor will guide students through fun, hands-on clay projects while teaching the fundamentals of sculpting, design, texture, and creative expression. Participants will learn basic hand-building techniques, including pinching, coiling, slab construction, carving, and detailing, as they create unique works of art. The program encourages imagination, patience, problem-solving, and artistic confidence in a supportive and engaging environment.

PM Grade Levels:
7th•8th Grade Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging air-dry clay projects and creative art activities. Teach basic sculpting techniques, including hand-building, shaping, texturing, carving, and finishing. Encourage creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration while helping students develop new skills. Demonstrate proper use and care of art materials and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves. Supervise students throughout the program and ensure their safety and well-being. Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and program coordinators. Arrive prepared with lesson plans, supplies, and project materials. Qualifications Experience in visual arts, ceramics, sculpture, arts education, or a related creative field preferred. Previous experience teaching, mentoring, or working with youth is highly desirable. Knowledge of air-dry clay techniques and mixed-media art projects is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Reliable, patient, creative, and enthusiastic about working with young artists.
