Job Description

Neighborhood Music School, the largest non-profit community arts organization in Connecticut, is seeking a Piano Teaching Artist to begin teaching in fall of 2026.
Position Summary:
Neighborhood Music School teaching artists are outstanding educators and pianists who engage their students with the goal of developing a joyful interest in and love of music. They have a passion for working with young children and have an energetic and engaging personality. They are excellent communicators who lay strong foundations of music education.
Requirements and Qualifications:
An understanding of the NMS mission and values, and a love of the arts; An appreciation of the diversity of the New Haven region and the NMS community; A commitment to equity and inclusion, and a desire to be part of building an anti bias anti racism culture; Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively and with an open mind; A desire to lead through compassion and service and a commitment for personal growth; Attention to detail and accuracy, with pride in quality of work.
