+ Studio Associate Practically Pikasso | St. Petersburg, FL Part-Time | 10-20 Hours Per Week Practically Pikasso is looking for an experienced pottery painter with strong painting, design, and hand-lettering skills to join our team as a Custom Pottery Artist

+ Studio Associate. This is a hands-on creative position for someone who is already comfortable painting on bisque and understands the techniques, materials, and attention to detail required to create beautiful finished pottery. Our Custom Artists create personalized gifts, handprint and footprint keepsakes, holiday pieces, commemorative pottery, studio samples, and other custom-painted orders. You'll also work as part of our Studio Associate team, helping guests create their own pottery projects. What You'll Do As a Custom Pottery Artist , you'll: Paint personalized pottery, keepsakes, gifts, and custom orders Accurately replicate existing Practically Pikasso samples and designs Hand-paint names, dates, sayings, patterns, and personalized details Create keepsake designs using children's handprints and footprints Work confidently with pottery glazes and ceramic painting techniques Complete custom orders neatly, efficiently, and within required deadlines Double-check names, spelling, dates, colors, and order details Help develop new handprint, footprint, seasonal, and gift designs Paint display samples and finished pieces for sale Keep custom orders organized from intake through completion Maintain a clean and organized painting area Communicate with guests when needed regarding artwork, personalization, and design options As a Studio Associate , you'll also: Welcome guests and help them choose pottery and projects Provide guidance on paints, techniques, design ideas, and tools Help guests achieve the look they're trying to create Answer questions and provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service Assist with checkout and finished-piece pickup Reset tables, restock supplies, and keep the studio organized Support parties, workshops, events, and busy studio days What We're Looking For Previous pottery-painting experience is strongly preferred for this position.

Our ideal candidate:

Has experience painting pottery or bisque, preferably in a paint-your-own-pottery studio Understands ceramic paints/glazes and how colors and designs translate through firing Has strong freehand painting skills Has excellent handwriting and hand-lettering skills Can accurately recreate an existing design or studio sample Is comfortable painting detailed patterns, illustrations, and personalized elements Has a strong eye for color, spacing, composition, and finishing details Works efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality Is organized, tidy, dependable, and able to manage multiple custom orders Is comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines Enjoys working with guests and being part of a busy studio team Can follow the Practically Pikasso aesthetic while also contributing new creative ideas Experience creating handprint/footprint pottery, custom keepsakes, personalized pottery, or finished-ware designs is especially valuable. Schedule This is a part-time position averaging approximately 10-20 hours per week . Custom artwork is seasonal, and hours may increase significantly during our busiest custom-order periods, particularly Christmas/winter holidays, Mother's Day, and Father's Day . Some evening and weekend availability is required for the Studio Associate portion of the position. Portfolio Required Please submit examples of pottery you have personally painted with your application. We're especially interested in seeing: Painted pottery or bisque Custom or personalized pottery Handprint or footprint designs Detailed freehand painting Hand-painted lettering and handwriting Holiday or seasonal designs Studio samples or finished ware you've created Additional examples of illustration, hand lettering, sign painting, or other artwork are welcome, but pottery-painting samples are strongly preferred. Applicants selected to move forward may be asked to complete a short in-studio painting assessment. Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
