Join Our Growing Team at The Moss Shop The Moss Shop is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on creative fabricator to join our growing studio. This is a tactile, hands-on position. We are specifically looking for someone who is naturally good with their hands and has experience creating detailed, refined work where precision, craftsmanship, and the quality of the finished product matter. Our strongest candidates may come from backgrounds such as sewing or seamstress work, upholstery, fabrication, floral design, prop making, model making, jewelry making, woodworking, art production, crafting, or other detail-oriented creative trades. Experience with moss is not required. This role is primarily focused on creating preserved moss artwork by hand and preparing completed pieces for safe, professional shipment. Our work blends art, design, precision, and craftsmanship. Every piece we create is custom and design-forward. Creating our artwork requires patience, excellent hand skills, attention to small details, and the ability to turn raw natural materials into polished, high-end finished pieces. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys making things with their hands and takes pride in craftsmanship. You should be comfortable spending much of your day physically creating, arranging, trimming, shaping, assembling, and refining materials until the finished piece meets our quality standards. The ideal candidate is responsible, organized, proactive, and receptive to feedback, with a strong work ethic and a desire to continually improve their craft. Because we are a small but growing team, we value individuals who are adaptable, collaborative, and interested in growing alongside the business. We are currently a tight-knit team of 7 and anticipate expanding to six to eight employees next year. At The Moss Shop, we create custom preserved moss frames, panels, bowls, and large-scale installations for residential and commercial spaces. Our clients expect exceptional quality, and we place a strong emphasis on the details and finishing of every piece that leaves our studio. Schedule & Hours This is a full-time position with long-term growth potential. The position will begin at 32 hours per week for the first two months as an initial training and assessment period. Following successful completion of the two-month assessment period, the position is expected to transition to 40 hours per week. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term, full-time role and becoming an integral part of our growing studio team. Key Responsibilities Handcraft preserved moss artwork, including frames, panels, bowls, and custom installations Work directly with moss, botanicals, wood, and other natural materials to create refined compositions Arrange, trim, shape, layer, and secure materials by hand with precision and care Translate design concepts and reference imagery into finished artwork Create visually balanced compositions using texture, color, dimension, and organic materials Continually refine artwork throughout the fabrication process to achieve a polished, high-end finish Maintain consistency and exceptional craftsmanship across finished pieces Inspect completed artwork and perform detailed quality-control checks Prepare finished artwork for shipment using professional packaging methods Assist with material organization and general studio workflow Contribute to a positive, collaborative, quality-focused studio environment Qualifications Strong hands-on ability is required. This position is best suited for someone who has demonstrated skill creating detailed work with their hands.
