Position Summary & Description Footlight Players - Assist teaching artists and production personnel of Footlight Players summer youth theatre program in presenting workshops and preparing productions to be performed by young persons from the community. The program is a three week summer camp featuring workshops and productions directed by teaching artists. The program culminates with performances of a play and a musical by the "Players". Work will be assigned on a daily basis, assisting where needed in the operation of workshops and rehearsals with Players and/or providing production support in scenery, lighting/sound, and costumes. Workers with advanced skills in performance, stage management, lighting or costume production will be assigned greater responsibility. Position Qualifications Prior knowledge, skills and ability in one or more performance and/or technical production areas of theatre. A willingness to work, adapt and learn new skills. Essential Functions Essential Functions - Reports directly to the Managing Director and serves the Teaching Artist or Production Area that they are assigned to. Works in various areas of the theater as assigned by the Managing Director- This could be an assignment to a director/teaching artist, and could also include assistance with props, scenery, lighting, or costuming. May assist teaching artists in preparation and delivery of workshops for Players. Perform roles if assigned, and carry out technical duties as assigned with all good faith and intent. Shall report promptly to all work call times, ready to work at the specified time. May assist with daily sign-in and sign-out for the camp based on a rotating schedule Attend asynchronous online orientation prior to June 27th Participate in strike (restoring the theatre and storage of materials) on Sunday, July 17th Be present and observant at the daily lunch-time to monitor the Players.
