The La'Aurora Music Division develops emerging singers, rappers, musicians, producers, songwriters, and performers by providing artist development, performance opportunities, and industry mentorship. Where Hustle Meets Opportunity. ⸻ Position Overview La'Aurora is seeking a motivated and creative Artists & Repertoire (A&R) Intern to help discover, develop, and support emerging talent within our youth music and performing arts programs. This internship is ideal for someone passionate about music, artist development, talent scouting, songwriting, music production, branding, and the entertainment industry. The A&R Intern will work closely with artists, producers, vocal coaches, choreographers, and executive leadership to help shape artists into confident, performance-ready professionals. Outstanding interns may transition into paid A&R or Artist Development positions within 6-12 months, based on performance and organizational growth. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Discover and evaluate emerging singers, rappers, musicians, producers, dancers, and performers. Assist in identifying artists with strong creative and commercial potential. Support artist development plans and career growth strategies. Coordinate auditions, showcases, rehearsals, recording sessions, and live performances. Provide constructive feedback on vocals, songwriting, performance, branding, and stage presence. Collaborate with producers, songwriters, choreographers, vocal coaches, and media teams. Help match artists with producers, writers, musicians, and creative collaborators. Assist with demo reviews and music submissions. Help organize talent showcases and artist development workshops. Support creative direction for performances, music videos, branding, and promotional content. Research current music industry trends across multiple genres. Maintain organized artist files, development notes, and project timelines. ⸻ Artist Development Responsibilities The A&R Intern will help guide artists in areas including: Artist branding and image development Stage presence and live performance Vocal development Song selection Songwriting Music production Performance coaching Choreography collaboration Recording preparation Professional etiquette Career planning Social media branding Portfolio development ⸻ Talent Scouting Candidates should have an eye for identifying potential in: Vocalists Rappers Singer-songwriters Bands Producers DJs Instrumentalists Spoken-word artists Dancers Creative performers ⸻ Music Industry Knowledge Preferred knowledge includes: Music publishing Copyright basics Music licensing Distribution platforms Streaming services Artist contracts Music marketing Release strategies Digital branding Entertainment business fundamentals ⸻ Qualifications Passion for music, entertainment, and artist development. Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Ability to recognize artistic potential and provide constructive feedback. Comfortable working with diverse artists and creative teams. Reliable, professional, and collaborative. Passion for mentoring youth and helping emerging artists succeed. ⸻ Preferred Qualifications Experience as a musician, vocalist, rapper, songwriter, producer, or performer. Experience in artist management, talent scouting, music production, or event coordination. Knowledge of recording studios and the music production process. Understanding of branding, social media, and music marketing. Experience organizing showcases, auditions, or live performances. Familiarity with DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, or GarageBand is a plus. ⸻ What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in A&R and artist development.
