Job Description

The Boys and Girls Club of East Providence is seeking Youth Development Professionals passionate about theatre, music, and teamwork to assist in developing and facilitating an afterschool Theatre club at our elementary and middle schools during our Fall season. This program will start in October and culminate in a musical revue in December 2026. After the fall, we hope candidates will stick around to be involved with our spring musical production! More details to come in November/December 2026.
Salary:
$18.00 to $25.00/hour depending on experience and education.
Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary Expected hours: 3 - 12 per week Fall onsite program hours are 2:00-5:00pm at the middle schools and 3:00-5:00pm at the elementary school. Candidate may work 1-3x per week depending on their availability. Spring musical rehearsals may shift to 4:00-6:00pm, TBD. Spring schedule will be determined this fall. The Boys & Girls Club of East Providence is seeking applicants to plan and run high-yield activities for our youth.
Applicants MUST have:
Previous experience working with youth Hold a high school diploma and college credits preferred
KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): Program Development and Implementation Plan & supervise theatre activities for elementary and middle school-age youth Support students in preparing for an end-of-session Broadway Revue (to be performed in December 2026) Teach students skills in: Socioemotional learning Literacy Public speaking/Stage presence Music Performance Teamwork Support and collaborate with other youth development staff in ensuring the safety and well being of youth Monitor, report, and resolve behavioral situations with members Organize and lead high-yield activities with members All other childcare related tasks as requested by the director on duty
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
May participate in special programs and/or events
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Minimum one year of previous experience with youth High School diploma, college credits preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Good leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
